JAIPUR: Police in Dholpur have detained a 16-year-old boy for murdering his uncle to take revenge for a slap. On March 8, Chotey Lal was found shot dead at his farm in Maniyan police station area.
His family members lodged a murder case against five named persons. Circle officer, Maniyan police station, Deepak Khandelwal told TOI on Saturday that the technical evidence did not corroborate the presence of the five persons named in the FIR.
“It was found that the deceased had some dispute with the family of his brother. It was further found that prior to the murder, Chotey Lal had slapped his nephew. The nephew had come to complain that the pet dog of Chotey Lal had bitten him,” Khandelwal said. The boy was questioned and he confessed to his crime. “Now the juvenile justice board will hear his case,” the officer said.
It was also found in the investigation that Chotey Lal and his brother had a common well for irrigation purpose at their farms. The two families had a dispute over their share of water. “These were the things that pointed at the involvement of the teenager. We found that the teenager had procured an illegal firearm some days prior to the murder and with it he shot at his uncle,” the police officer said.
