8 special squads scan CCTV footage to nab suspects in riot case, 10 held in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: The city police has formed dedicated squads to identify and arrest the suspects involved Kiradpura riot. The police have arrested 10 suspects so far.
A day after the incident, based on the complaint lodged by Jinsi police station inspector Ashok Bhandare, seven identified and about 400 to 500 unidentified suspects were booked for the violence and arson.
One person died and several were injured in the riot.
The riots and arson has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed on the stretch between Roshan Gate and Azad Chowk. The arson caused damage to 13 police vehicles, including cars, jeeps and vans valued at Rs 2.5 crore. Three private vehicles too were torched.
Commissioner of police Nikhil Gupta formed eight squads to identify and nab all the rioters with the help of CCTV footage.
