NAWADA: Hectic preparations are underway to make Union home minister Amit Shah's Nawada visit a grand success. Shah is to address a rally at Hisua Inter College grounds, 14km from Nawada headquarters, on Sunday afternoon.
Following cancellation of Shah's Sasaram visit due to communal clashes, chief organizer Anil Singh, former Hisua BJP MLA, has doubled his efforts to ensure the success of his Nawada meeting.
Several state and central BJP leaders, including Union minister of state for home affairs, Nityanand Rai, state BJP president Samrat Choudhary, leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Vijay Kumar Sinha, MLC Vivek Thakur, former Bihar minister Jibesh Kumar, state BJP mahila wing leader Poonam Sharma, BJP MLA Aruna Devi (Warisaliganj), Nawada district BJP president Anil Mehta, former Nawada district BJP presidents Birendra Singh, Vinay Kumar, Sanjay 'Munna', reached Hisua and appealed people to attend the rally in large numbers and ensure a "double-engine sarkar" in Bihar in near future.
If BJP party workers from Warisaliganj are to be believed, even Samrat has expressed dissatisfaction at the small size of the venue. Traditionally, tall leaders from BJP had attended rallies at the sprawling ITI grounds, 1km from Nawada police station. But due to the construction of an engineering college there, the size of the ITI grounds has shrunk.
The rally at Hisua is seen as an exercise by the BJP to consolidate the fragmented Bhumihar community voters, who form large chunk of voters in the Lok Sabha elections.
