Dist admin agrees to demands of akharas

Jamshedpur: After a daylong deadlock between the district administration and akhara samitis over taking out of trailers and DJ music sets during the Ram Navami processions, the former agreed to the demands of the latter and the processions were taken out peacefully, said Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato. He said an agreement was reached during a meeting he chaired and attended by the district officials and representatives of the samitis at the circuit house on Friday. Processions could also be taken out on Saturday, sources said.
