‘OBC issue raised to stifle JPC demand’

Surat: Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Friday claimed that to divert the attention of people from the demand of a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into the investments by shell companies in Adani group, the issue of insult of one community by Rahul Gandhi is being raised by BJP.
Kumar was addressing the media in the city.
Kumar asked, “BJP is raising the issue of OBC so I want to ask them, which of the persons named by Rahulji in his speech is an OBC? Further, if they are worried about OBC, then they should declare how many OBC posts in government jobs are vacant and recruitment should be done immediately.”
Kumar raised the issue related to the case of defamation. “It is not a case of ‘manhani’ (defamation) but of ‘baimani’ (dishonesty). We are not trying to protect Rahul Gandhi or we are not worried for Congress,” said Kumar.
“But as it is claimed that it is Ram Rajya by BJP leaders, then in Ram Rajya, Mata Sita also had to give a test then why a friend of Modi cannot be investigated? If nothing wrong has been done, then why are they not getting the investigation done?” added Kumar.
He further claimed that Adani got work during Congress rule as well. “The investigation of the work done during Congress rule should also be done,” he added.
