Everything leaving Netflix in April 2023

Netflix may be the king of the streamers, with lots of new and exciting arrivals every month. But even Netflix has to bend to the fact that nothing stays on there forever. In April, even a handful of Netflix original animated shows are exiting, including Turbo FAST! and The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show. We’re also disappointed to see Ash vs. Evil Dead leave Netflix, especially since Evil Dead Rise is hitting theaters later this month. But the biggest departure of the month may be New Girl, a hit sitcom that was among the most popular shows on the service.

That’s the bad news. Here’s the good news: You still have time to watch these shows and movies before they are taken off of Netflix. All you have to do is consult our list of everything leaving Netflix in April 2023. Our picks are in bold if you want to save some time.

There aren’t many sitcoms that generate a lot of buzz anymore. In that regard, New Girl may be one of the last. It wasn’t a huge ratings success during its run on Fox, but it was a huge performer on Netflix for several years. However, you’ve only got a limited time to revisit this comedy before it moves to some other streaming service.

New Girl focuses on Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel), a somewhat dorky school teacher who moves in with three guys, Nick Miller (Jake Johnson), Winston Schmidt (Max Greenfield), and Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris). There are, of course, some typical sitcom hijinks, especially involving Jess and her best friend, Cece Parekh (Hannah Simone). But what made the show stand out were the improvised comedy and the slow-burn romance between Jess and one of her roommates.

What’s new on Peacock in April 2023
A nun walks in a crowded hospital in Mrs. Davis.

The best way to describe Peacock is that it's essentially NBC+. There are a lot of movies from the Universal Pictures catalog, but the real attraction is the daily updates of NBC's various sporting events, as well as episodes of Access Hollywood and the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives. In April, Peacock's paid subscribers can watch both nights of WrestleMania, but for our money, the real grudge match is in Damon Lindelof's new sci-fi series, Mrs. Davis. That show pits a determined nun against an all-powerful AI system that is on the verge of dominating mankind.

Keep reading for the full list of films, series, and live sporting events that will be available on the streaming service throughout the month, as well as everything else coming to Peacock in April 2023. Our recommendations are highlighted in bold. (Note: Some content will not be available to watch without a paid subscription at the Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus levels.)
