Man gets 12-yr imprisonment for abduction, rape of minor

Kanpur: Designated Special judge Pocso Act court Pervez Ahmad on Saturday sentenced accused Dhirendra Yadav to 12 years rigorous imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 40,00 on him for enticing, kidnapping and physically exploiting a minor girl.
The court observed in its order that if the convict failed to pay the fine, then he would have to undergo another two years jail term.
A sum of Rs 30,000 from the fine amount be given to the victim as compensation for suffering mental agony and a copy of this order be sent to the district magistrate Kanpur Nagar and District Legal Service Authority, the court ordered. According to ADGC Sushil Verma, Dhirendra Yadav had kidnapped the minor from the Ramadevi crossing and took her to another city on July 11, 2013 where he kept her for one month and repeatedly raped her.
