NAGPUR: Lashing out at the opposition, deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said some people have been unhappy ever since he took charge of the home department.
Responding to criticism by NCP leader Supriya Sule on the law and order situation at Sambhaji Nagar, Fadnavis said, "Ever since I took over as the home minister, some people have become uncomfortable. They do not wish for me to continue as the home minister. But I want to send a message to them that I will continue in this post and anyone who indulges in illegal activities will face action. This state will function according to the rule of law."
Fadnavis also said that cops have identified the person who sent death threats to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut.
"Prima facie it seems the message to Raut was sent by the person under the influence of alcohol. But this is just a preliminary finding and we will look into this closely," said Fadnavis. He also denied Raut's claims that the threat message was being taken in "jest" by some politicians.
"Absolutely no chance of taking any such thing lightly. In Maharashtra, we will not allow anybody to threaten people," said Fadnavis.
