BAREILLY: A 34-year-old woman employee of a prominent shopping mall in Moradabad was allegedly raped at gunpoint inside the establishment's changing room by a security guard.
The married woman, who works as a housekeeping staff in the mall, alleged that her supervisor and a colleague also assisted the guard in the crime. The alleged "rape" took place on February 27 and the survivor stopped going to work since. She initially remained quiet as she suffered from trauma but decided to register a police complaint on Thursday after she confided her ordeal with her husband a day earlier.
Taking cognisance of the crime, police registered an FIR against three persons, including the accused security guard. All the three accused named in the FIR are still at large. SHO of Civil Lines (Moradabad), Gajendra Singh, said, “The accused and two others have been booked following a complaint by the woman. She told us that on February 27, she went to the changing room after her shift was over when the security guard broke into the room and raped her at gunpoint, even as two others -- a supervisor and a housekeeper -- stood outside the change room.
The three men later threatened to kill her and her husband.” The SHO said, “We have slapped sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 504 (intentional insult), 506 (criminal intimidation, 376 (rape), 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 354B (assault on woman with intent to disrobe) of IPC against the three named accused. The complainant was sent for medical tests.”
