RPS officer Divya Mittal gets bail in bribery case

JAIPUR: The Rajasthan High Court on Friday granted bail to RPS officer Divya Mittal who was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Rs 1 crore bribery case. The single bench of Justice C K Songara granting bail said that she is a lady police officer and has no criminal antecedents. Besides, the chargesheet in the case has been filed and there is no acceptance of money by her or her accomplice involved in the case. She was in jail since January 14 this year.
ACB arrested a woman officer of additional SP rank, who was posted with the SOG of Rajasthan police, and a middleman from Jaipur for allegedly demanding Rs 1 crore as a bribe from a pharmaceutical manufacturer after threatening to falsely implicate him in a drug seizure case that she was probing. Mittal was probing a case of banned medicines, worth over Rs 16 crore, seized from Ajmer and Jaipur in 2021. tnn
