Ludhiana: Furious over the deteriorating condition of roads in mix land use (MLU) areas and near industrial areas in Atam Nagar constituency, a delegation of city businessmen on Friday met Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu, urging him to construct roads here.
Upkar Singh Ahuja, president of Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU), who lead the delegation, said, “The condition of roads and other infrastructure near industrial and MLU areas in Atam Nagar constituency is not in good state. Due to this, our businesses are being affected very badly as this is hampering movement of goods and services. Therefore, we met MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and he heard all our grievances very patiently and assured us that the road infrastructure will be improved within the next two months.”
The businessmen from committee of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) were also part of the meeting and discussed ITI’s upgradation with the legislator.
ITI’s Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma said, “Upgrading ITI Ludhiana is a good step taken by the government as it is the dire need of the industry. ITI students will get full exposure of industrial equipment and work as per the requirement of the industry”
Vishiwkarma informed that Rajya Sabha MP Vikarmjeet Singh Sawney had recently sanctioned Rs 2 crore to ITI for upgradation and procuring good equipment. “A new workshop will be established for the training of modern industrial equipment like a robotic welding lab, CNC lab and prototyping workshop. Our vision is to make ITI a skill training centre for the next-generation requirement,” he added.
