JALANDHAR: Radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh's associate Papalpreet Singh has been seen in CCTV footage of a dera near Pandori Bibi village after their escape on March 28 night, when counter-intelligence sleuths were chasing them. The footage is of March 29 morning. It shows another person with them. The dera is not very far from Marnaiyan village, from where they escaped.
Police sources revealed that after the March 28 escape, Papalpreet and another person, identified as Gurkirat Singh, spent the night in a tubewell room before walking to the dera near Pandori Bibi, where CCTV cameras captured their movement next morning. Police officials believe that Amritpal and Papalpreet separated on March 28, when counter-intelligence sleuths were chasing them.

Meanwhile, the combing operation in Hoshiarpur villages started on Tuesday night to nab the fugitives continued on Friday. Officials suspect the radical preacher recorded his second video, which was released on Thursday night, at a religious dera as Gurbani kirtan can be heard almost in the end.
The combing operation was launched after a team of counter-intelligence chased an Innova on Hoshiarpur-Phagwara road with four people in it. They found the vehicle abandoned at Gurdwara Bhai Chanchal Singh at Marnaiyan as the passengers the walls to escape in the fields.
