Haveri/Ballari: Transport and ST welfare minister B Sriramulu said that Congress leaders have been distracted after escalation of SC, ST reservation and reallocation of reservation by the state BJP government and that Congress will never come to power in the state despite former CM Siddaramaiah and KPCC president DK Shivakumar putting in efforts.
Interacting with mediapersons after attending a meeting to collect opinions for candidature in the Haveri BJP office on Friday, the minister said while the opposition party managed to lead in pre-poll surveys, these surveys failed in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Congress did not get mandate in 2018 assembly election, but assumed power through the backdoor. “CM Basavaraj Bommai will not contest from two segments. He has done great work at Shiggaon-Savanur and he will win in the election even if former minister Vinay Kulkarni contests there as Congress candidate,” he clarified.
Sriramulu also said he was sad over Kudligi MLA NY Gopalkrishna resigning from BJP and joining Congress.
Migration normal: KateelBJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel informed that migration of political party leaders is common during elections, and many leaders are ready to join BJP. Commenting on Kudligi BJP MLA NY Gopalkrishna's resigning from BJP and joining Congress in Ballari on Friday, Kateel said he does not know about Gopalkrishna and he has not given any reason for his resignation. However, there is no need to worry about it because the people of the state are pro-BJP as the government has introduced many welfare schemes.
