Muzaffarpur man mastermind of Cuttack spurious drugs racket

BHUBANESWAR: The state government on Saturday said the kingpin of a spurious drugs racket detected in Cuttack in February is one Manish Kumar, a native of Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
After finding Madhya Pradesh and Bihar link to the spurious drugs, a special taskforce of drugs enforcement squad had visited Bhopal and Muzaffarpur, a statement issued by the health department said.
The team with the assistance of drugs control officials of Muzaffarpur seized suspected spurious drugs of around Rs 10 lakh from the house of Manish Kumar. Manish acquired huge stock of spurious medicines from illegal source and supplied to other firms having no drug licence. He was found absconding.
The team has shared some important information to police officials of Purighat police station in Cuttack about the culprit. Police had booked a distributor in Choudhary Bazar area od Cuttack for selling te fake drugs.
