West Bengal: Manhandled, beaten at Tiljala Police Station, alleges NCPCR Chairman Priyank Kanoongo

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Chairman Priyank Kanoongo on March 31, alleged that the West Bengal Police in Malda had manhandled him at the Tiljala police station after his objection over the video recording of proceedings of the Commission’s probe. Taking to ANI, he shared the details of the violent incident that took place yesterday in Malda with him. He said, “Yesterday, I was beaten up at Tiljala PS during an inquiry into POCSO and murder case. Police personnel against whom the inquiry was conducted were recording it. Officials in the police station assaulted after my objection. We are working to ensure justice for our children,” NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo.
