MLAs sweep ‘clean’ roads during MC cleanliness drive

Ludhiana: Launching cleanliness drives in different parts of the city, the municipal corporation on Friday started ‘swachhta mashaal’ marches across the city under Swachh Bharat Mission.
City MLAs Madan Lal Bagga, Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Bassi Gogi flagged off the marches in Salem Tabri area, Gill Road and Bhai Randhir Singh (BRS) Nagar respectively. Joint commissioners Sonam Chaudhary and Kulpreet Singh, zonal commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, NCC cadets, NGOs and other MC officials also took part in the marches and urged the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and green.
The MC teams also urged the residents to take pledge to keep the city garbage free by visiting sbmurban.org/swachh-pledge.
Corporation sanitation officer (CSO) Ashwani Sahota and medical officer Vipal Malhotra said all the wards would soon be covered under these cleanliness drives.
