State’s 1st LGD jewellery store opening in A’bad

Surat: As the government is trying to give a boost to the lab-grown diamond (LGD) industry by announcing schemes in the Union budget, a manufacturer from the city is opening the state’s first exclusive LGD showroom in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
The jewellery brand, Ayaani, is opening its 1600 sqft showroom in Sindhu Bhavan area. The manufacturer claims that they have chosen Ahmedabad as it is a hub of business and industry in the state.
“It is the first exclusive LGD jewellery store and we have developed products that look even better than natural diamonds. Since the LGD is in competition with natural diamonds, we have made such products that look better,” said Rajni Chanchad, owner of Ayaani.
Chanchad claims Ahmedabad is a big market. “We have developed a collection of products keeping niche class buyers of Ahmedabad in view. Further, diamond jewellery lovers will get a new option to buy products at affordable rates,” he added.
According to sources in the diamond industry, there are a couple of LGD jewellery exclusive stores in Mumbai but this will be the first store in Gujarat.
“Natural diamonds have their value but LGD is a revolution in the market like electric vehicles in the automobile industry. LGD will change the way the gem and jewellery industry functions, hence we are focusing on it,” said Chanchad.
