KOLKATA: The Bengal government will host the sixth edition of Duare Sarkar camps from Saturday and applications for various schemes as well as changes will be accepted till April 10. Services are likely to be delivered between April 11 and 20.
“To reach the maximum number of people, the Duare Sarkar drive will be held at booth levels with both stationary and mobile camps,” said chief secretary H K Dwivedi. Around 1 lakh camps will be set up to receive applications and an equal number of camps will be held for the delivery of services from April 11 to April 20. Each day will see 16,000 camps.
Pointing out widow pension would be the focus, Dwivedi said they were looking at 100% target. The other schemes in focus will be Medhashree, Bhabisyat Credit Card and micro-irrigation under Bangla Krishi Sech Yojna. He said Medhashree, a scholarship for OBC students, used to be a central scheme but the Centre later stopped it. The Bhabisyat Credit Card will give loan up to Rs 5 lakh to set up business.
