Belagavi: Union minister Pralhad Joshi said the party is looking for developments in the Athani assembly constituency and asked former deputy CM Laxman Savadi and former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi not to make any statements in the public.
Ramesh Jarkiholi is pressing the party to allot a ticket to his follower and sitting MLA Mahesh Kumathalli in Athani. On the other hand, MLC Laxman Savadi is also seeking a ticket from Athani segment. Amid this, war of words between Savadi and Jarkiholi continues.
Speaking to reporters at Dharmanath Bhavan here on Friday, at the sidelines of the party leaders’ meeting to finalise candidates, Joshi said there is no ambiguity in Belagavi district with respect to ticket distribution.
“Today, we are collecting the opinions of leaders regarding ticket distribution. Our party is not a family party like Congress, but a democratic one. Candidates are finalised only after taking opinion of all leaders,” he clarified.
