Prayers held at temples across Mysuru city to mark Ram Navami
MYSURU: The city celebrated Ram Navami on Thursday with many temples holding special prayers to mark the occasion. As part of the celebrations, cultural and music programmes were also held in Lord Ram and Anjaneyaswamy temples across the city. Devotees thronged the temple on account of the celebrations.
Members of various organisations, including District Pendal Owners Association along with several Muslims, celebrated the festival by offering floral tributes to the portrait of Lord Ram on Narayana Shastri Road. Jeevan, resident of Siddhartha Layout in the city, who was dressed as Lord Ram was a major attraction during the celebration.
Members of various organisations made arrangements for distribution of buttermilk and juice, a tradition practised during the festival. The cool drinks brought much respite to people and was in great demand among people. Food preparations like ‘kosambari’ and ‘kadale kalu prasad’ were also distributed to devotees outside various temples to mark the celebrations.
