Two held for murder in Kaushambi

Prayagraj: Two persons have been arrested by Kaushambi police on Thursday in connection with the murder of man whose body was found in a dry well in Hausi village under the limits of Pipri police station of the district on March 18. The police also seized an axe, a bike, two mobiles and one country made pistol of 0.315 bore from the possession of the duo identified as Ajay Kumar (22) and Shani (19) both residents of Charwa.
Police said the deceased Surjan Yadav of Kadilpur village had gone missing since February 24 and his family members had lodged a complaint.
After registering an FIR under sections 302 and 201 of IPC, police had started investigations and found the involvement of Ajay Kumar and Shani. Cops arrested the duo near Manauri-Charwa road. Ajay claimed that one day Surjan Yadav threatened him of dire consequences following which he decided to eliminate Yadav.
Last month, Ajay and his friends invited Surjan Yadav on the pretext of liquor party and killed him with an axe and dumped his body in a dry well.
