Six killed as truck overturns

Rajkot: Six people died and eight were injured when a truck overturned in Mevasa village under Vallabhipur taluka of Bhavnagar district on Thursday. According to police, the victims were labourers who were travelling in the truck transporting grass.
Three of the injured received minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital in an hour. The condition of other inured was stable.
According to sub-inspector Pratapsinh Jhala of Vallabhipur police station, a police team with ambulances reached the accident site soon after they came to know about the accident.
The police, with the help of villagers, rescued the injured people and rushed them to hospital.
Police booked truck driver Kalu Rathod (38) under Section 304 of IPC and under Motor Vehicle Act.
