If I start thinking about the outcome, I won’t be able to attempt anything new: Vishal Aditya Singh on hosting Bhojpuri IPL

Vishal Aditya Singh believes in pushing the envelope and exploring new opportunities. The actor, who is best remembered for his participation in Bigg Boss 13 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, will host segments before, in between matches, and after the end of every match of IPL 2023 in Bhojpuri. Sharing his excitement over the opportunity, he says, “I was approached two months ago to host the Bhojpuri version. I can’t say no to anything to do with Bhojpuri, IPL, and cricket. Besides, I have always wanted to do something different. I represented Bihar when I was playing for the under-17 cricket team. It is a great opportunity to put my knowledge and experience to use. Also, the young generation should know about their roots and culture. This is the right time to do something in my language.”
The cricket buff believes in observing and learning. He says that he wasn’t nervous when he was approached with the offer. He shares, “I am always excited about attempting something new. I may make mistakes, but I am never nervous or anxious. As a human, I am bound to make mistakes but, in the process, I will learn, too and that surpasses everything else. Hosting requires me to be spontaneous and look organic. One doesn’t get to prepare because what you speak depends on the match, which can go either way. I look forward to attempting something that I haven’t done before.”
While he is willing to learn from his mistakes, social media isn’t too forgiving given that netizens watch everything hawk-eyed. “Insaan galtiyon ka putla hota hai and we have made social media. Some get affected by unwanted criticism, but I don’t. I will apologise for the mistakes I made. If I start thinking about the outcome, I won’t be able to attempt anything new. I aim to set a benchmark for those who will follow,” he says.
