The Indo-Tibetan Border Police, which is tasked with guarding the Line of Actual Control along India's borders with China, is training its personnel to fight without weapons using the Israeli Krav Maga martial art technique. Krav Maga is a combination of Judo, Karate, Boxing, and Wrestling. Krav Maga teaches various kinds of tackles that can be used to defeat an opponent in hand-to-hand combat. 50 master trainers are being trained currently, who will then impart the skills to other commandos. When asked whether the training was meant to prepare the jawans for a combat situation like the one that occurred in Galwan in 2020, the Inspector General of the ITBP said that unarmed combat training has been a regular part of the force's training curriculum. The ITBP has approximately 98,000 personnel stationed along the roughly 3,500-kilometre border with China, spanning from Arunachal Pradesh to Ladakh. .
