Ranchi: RMC provides free bus rides to Ram Navami rally participants, revellers
Devotees take part in the last Mangalwari procession ahead of Ram Navami in Ranchi on Wednesday.
RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has made arrangements for free transport, toilets, water facilities, generators, lighting and other amenities for participants and revellers of the Ram Navami procession on Thursday.
Highlighting the preparations made, deputy mayor Sanjeev Vijaywargiya said, "We have also decked up the approach roads on the procession routes; readied portable toilets and other facilities. Moreover, around 25 city buses will be run free of cost to ferry people. The buses will ply on different routes from the Tapovan temple, where processions will culminate so that people do not face any problem in moving from one place to another."
All significant religious sites, including the Booty More, Kokar, Doranda and Hindpiri, have been equipped with generators and lighting items because the power will be cut as a precaution due to the height of the flags.
An RMC official said, "On the day of the festival, there will be a power cut due to the procession with tall flags from different regions. In view of the power cut on the day of Ramnavi, the RMC has arranged lighting equipment on various roads of the city."
Drinking water facilities will also be made available at different points through stalls set up by the RMC. "Over 200 such stalls will be put up to serve the public," the official said, adding that on the procession route, portable toilets will be set up and it will be free for the day.
