Banna and Saryu assure help to evicted vendors
Jamshedpur: Health minister Banna Gupta on Wednesday visited an encroachment eviction site on Mango-Dimna Road and assured the displaced shopkeepers and vendors of rehabilitation.
Upset over the demolition of shops in the eviction drive conducted by the district administration on Sunday, several displaced street vendors and shopkeepers have been keenly waiting for the elected public representatives to take note of their burning problem.
"Genuine and deserving vendors and shopkeepers who have lost their shops will be identified and rehabilitated. Shops will be allotted to them soon at three new sites identified by the administration," Gupta said.
Earlier, he met the displaced vendors and held a dialogue with them. Notably, Banna, is a MLA from Jamshedpur West constituency and the demolition site falls under his area.
Earlier in the day, BJM leader and MLA Saryu Rai visited the site and met the displaced vendors. The Jamshedpur East legislator informed chief secretary Sukhdev Singh about the matter on phone.
