Mallikarjun Kharge lauds Vaikom Satyagraha’s role against caste discrimination

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on March 30 attended the centenary celebration of Vaikom Satyagraha in Kerala’s Kottayam. While addressing the event, he hailed Vaikom Satyagraha’s role against caste discrimination. Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Vaikom Satyagraha holds special significance in India’s long history of caste discrimination. As also for Indian National Congress strive for achieving India’s Independence from colonial rule. The Vaikom Satyagraha has the unique distinction of being one of the most potent and earlier mass moments against the social evil of caste discrimination.”
