No approval for Ram Navami, Ramzan events in northwest Delhi

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has denied permission for community prayer on Ramzan in Pitampura over law and order issues. It has also denied permission to hold a Shree Ram Bhagwan Pratima Yatra (Ram Navami procession) in Jahangirpuri on the same grounds.
On March 22, police got a request about the community prayer. “I am directed to inform you that your request for organising community prayer at a park near Block RP, Pitampura from March 24 onwards has been considered by the competent authority but could not be acceded to from law and order point of view,” an order, which was issued on March 23, read.
Police on Monday also denied permission for the Ram Navami procession. An order, which was signed by the assistant commissioner of police, HQ, Northwest district, stated: “I am directed to inform you that your request for Shree Ram Bhagwan Pratima Yatra on the occasion of Ramnavami Mahotsav on Thursday has been considered by the competent authority but could not be acceded to from the law and order point of view.”
