Uttarakhand CM pays tribute to first Paramveer Chakra awardee Major Somnath Sharma

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tribute to the first Paramveer Chakra awardee Major Somnath Sharma on March 29 in Haldwani. Major Sharma was a part of the Fourth Batallion of the Kumaon Regiment. He was posted in Budgam after independence in 1947, and laid down his life while evicting Pakistani infiltrators from J&K.
