NEW DELHI/CHANDIGARH: Clips of CCTV footage said to be from 5.20pm on March 21 surfaced Tuesday purportedly showing fugitive Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh and his companion Papalpreet Singh walking in an east Delhi market in disguise.
Delhi police have used identification software to compare the image of the man seen in the footage with Amritpal's photographs and the results have thrown a match. "But it cannot be said with certainty until he is caught and interrogated," a senior officer said.

Punjab police began on March 18 a widespread crackdown against him, his aides and the Waris Punjab De group he leads. Speculation swirled that Amritpal has crossed the India-Nepal border by now. Papalpreet is said to be Amritpal's mentor and allegedly has contacts in Pakistani spy agency ISI.
