Akhilesh visits Kanpur zoo with sarus crane’s friend Arif

Kanpur: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday visited Kanpur zoo along with the sarus crane’s friend Arif to enquire about its well-being.
As the sarus has been quarantined for 15 days, they were shown the live footage of the bird at its enclosure inside the zoo.
Later, Akhilesh Yadav while talking to the media said, “Those digging pits for others should understand that they are digging pits for themselves.” Regarding the sarus crane’s friend Arif, Akhilesh said that the authorities should not impose any kind of fine on him, nor should there be any action against him. “The sarus bird should be released in its natural habitat,” he said.
Akhilesh also demanded that after the quarantine period of the bird is over, “it should be shown to us closely”. Akhilesh also visited enclosures of other animals in the zoo, especially the tiger’s, and saw the big cat.
