A massive fire broke out at the Papaya Tree hotel in Indore on Wednesday and several people are feared to be trapped inside. Eight people were rescued from the building after being trapped on the sixth floor, police said.
The blaze broke out at the hotel in Mumbai bypass Rau area of Indore on Wednesday morning. The fire first started in the cafeteria and quickly spread to all floors of the hotel, as per Times Now. The hotel has five floors and 60 rooms.

Videos of the incident show plumes of smoke billowing out of the building as rescue operations were underway. As per reports, the first two floors have been destroyed entirely.
Superintendent of Police (Fire) R S Ningwal said the fire erupted in the basement roof of Papaya Tree Hotel in Rajendra Nagar area, and people staying on the sixth floor got trapped due to smoke.
“Eight people, including three women, were rescued safely using ladders. They were very scared due to smoke," he said, adding the cause of the blaze is being investigated.
Three fire tenders and five water tankers were at the spot carrying out rescue operations. The hotel is being evacuated.
