NASHIK: Former Maharashtra minister and senior Nationalist Congress Party leader
Chhagan Bhujbal took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal that he had tested for Covid-19.
This is not the first time he has contracted the virus, having previously been infected during the peak of the pandemic. Bhujbal was recently on a visit to his assembly constituency in Nashik district when he began experiencing a fever.
He underwent a Covid-19 test on Monday and received a positive result.
In his tweet, he advised anyone who had come into contact with him in the past few days to get tested if they display symptoms such as fever, breathing difficulties, runny nose, or sore throat.
Furthermore, he urged citizens to follow Covid-19 safety protocols such as wearing masks and using hand sanitisers.
Nashik district on Tuesday reported 11 new cases, taking the overall infections in the district to 4,82,642, officials said.
Maharashtra on Monday reported 205 fresh Covid-19 cases, which took the state's tally to 81,42,059, while the death toll stood unchanged at 1,48,435, an official had said.
