Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:19AM

KIOCL(up 1.31%), Coal India(up 1.01%) and Ashapura Minechem(up 0.79%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex(down 3.28%), Pokarna(down 2.42%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 2.36%), Lexus Granito(down 1.36%), 20 Microns(down 1.17%), MOIL(down 0.99%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.98%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.56%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.51%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.21%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 14.65 points up at 17000.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 97.19 points at 57751.05 at around 10:19AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.91%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.39%), UPL Ltd(up 1.16%), Coal India(up 1.01%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.84%), HDFC(up 0.62%), Tata Consultancy(up 0.6%), HCL Technologies(up 0.55%), Tata Steel(up 0.54%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.5%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 4.18%), Adani Enterprises(down 2.41%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.23%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.6%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.22%), Tata Motors(down 1.2%), Britannia Industries(down 1.13%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.11%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.96%) and Divis Laboratories(down 0.87%) were trading in the red.
