Panaji: The state government on Tuesday introduced the Goa Restriction on Transfer of Agriculture land Bill, 2023, seeking to impose restriction on the transfer of agricultural land in the state.
The bill aims to preserve and protect the land that is presently being used for cultivation of paddy.
Revenue Minister Atanasio Monserrate introduced the bill in the state legislative assembly.
Monserrate also introduced the Goa Regularisation of Unauthorised Construction (amendment) Bill, 2023 seeking insertion of a proviso in sub section (1) of section 3 of the Act so as to do away with the requirement of written consent where the property/land in divided/allotted between all co-owners or members of family by an order or decree of the court or by registration deed or instrument.
He also introduced the Goa Legislative Diploma no 2070 dated 15 April 1961 (amendment) Bill, 2023.
Urban Development Minister Vishwajit Rane introduced the Goa Municipalities (amendment) Bill, 2023, which seeks an amendment to section of the Act for devolving powers of delimitation to the state election commission so that elections to the municipalities are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. It also seeks to amend section 184 of the Act so as to curtail delay in obtaining permission for construction of building and to promote ease of doing business.
Rane also introduced the Goa Town and Country Planning (amendment) Bill, 2023 seeking to amend sub section 6 of the section 49 of the Act.
Minister for Public Works Nilesh Cabral introduced the Goa Highway Law (revival of operation, amendment and validation) Bill, 2023 so that process of acquisition and award is simplified and acquisition of land for roads can be done expeditiously.
