KOTA: A daily wage labourer undergoing treatment in the general ward of Jhalawar district hospital allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the toilet of the orthopaedic ward early Sunday morning.
No suicide note was recovered from his possession and the police have lodged a case of unnatural death under Section 174 of CrPC.
The body was handed over to family members after postmortem later in the day.
The deceased was identified as Rambabu Meghwal (about 50 years of age), resident of Kherabad in Ramganjmandi in Kota district. He was admitted to the general medicine ward of the district hospital on Friday with complaint of vomiting and diarrhea, CO, Jhalawar city, DSP Brijmohan Meena said. His wife and daughter were attending to him in the general medicine ward on the 4th floor when he, early in the morning, went down to the toilet of the orthopaedic ward on the 2nd floor and allegedly hanged himself there, Meena said.
