Sumit Mathur, previously the Chief Marketing Officer for Kellogg India, has recently joined the payment platform Paytm as Chief Marketing Officer. The announcement of his new position was made by Mathur via a LinkedIn post.
In his post Mathur said, “Nothing’s more exciting for a marketeer than the opportunity to literally touch the lives of every Indian and every merchant. Super excited to kickstart my own journey with Paytm and make #harpaymentdigital.”
In February, Mathur took to LinkedIn to announce his departure from Kellogg India after a fulfilling tenure of over five and a half years with the company. “This week marks my last serving bowls of Kellogg’s… a journey that I cherish and feel proud of,” he wrote in the post.
During his tenure with Kellogg India, Mathur joined as the Director of Marketing in 2017 and was responsible for leading the overall Category Strategy, Vision, and Business P&L as part of the South Asia Leadership Team.
Before joining Kellogg India, Mathur spent almost 15 years with Hindustan Unilever Limited where he led the India Ice-cream business with direct functional responsibility for Marketing, Sales, Shopper/Trade marketing, and Cold Chain Logistics.

Apart from his successful corporate career, Mathur is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and is also actively involved in various industry committees, serving as a member of Consumer Complaints, ASCI, and Co-Chair Marketing Leadership Committee at the Confederation of Indian Industry.
