21, including children, hospitalized after eating Khichdi at Navratri feast in UP village
At least twenty-one people, including children, were hospitalized after reportedly eating Khichdi (porridge), served during a Navratri community feast at a temple in Ninana village of Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district, officials said on Monday.

As per reports, some of the children lost consciousness and showed signs of food poisoning after eating the dish and panicked parents and temple authorities called the police who arrived there along with a team of health department officials.
District Magistrate (DM) Rajkamal Yadav said the incident took place in Faijpur Ninana on Sunday evening and all twenty-one people were admitted to district hospital Baghpat where they are undergoing treatment for food poisoning.
The magistrate, while assuring that both the children and the adults are completely safe, said that two pediatricians have been assigned to look after the hospitalized children.
Yadav an announcement has been made in the village that if anybody is feeling unwell, then they will be hospitalized.

Meanwhile, a senior health department official revealed that the condition of some of the children ailing from food poisoning at the district hospital is reportedly critical as they are still unconscious.
Reports quoting Chief medical superintendent (CMS) of Baghpat district hospital SK Chaudhary said that the health officials received reports that over two dozen people belonging to the lower strata of the society had fallen sick due to food poisoning after eating khichdi at a temple feast in Ninana village in Fajipur.
Chaudhary said the condition of at least three of the kids who are still unconscious, is critical while others are reportedly stable and will recover soon.
One of the men admitted to the hospital due to food poisoning at the event said that a community feast was set up at the temple on the occasion of Navratri where khichdi was served and everyone who consumed it, fell ill.

In a tragic incident, a woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district reportedly jumped into a well along with her four minor children, purportedly to die by suicide, but later climbed to safety with her eldest daughter, leaving her other three children to die, police said on Sunday.

In a tragic incident, a woman in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district reportedly jumped into a well along with her four minor children, purportedly to die by suicide, but later climbed to safety with her eldest daughter, leaving her other three children to die, police said on Sunday.
According to a senior official, the incident happened in Baldi village of MP’s Burhanpur district when a woman, identified as 30-year-old Pramila Bhilala pushed her four children into a well before jumping in herself. However, after falling into the well, she feared for her life and climbed to safety along with her eldest daughter, with the help of rope hanging into the well, leaving behind her other three children including an 18-month-old son, and two daughters aged three and five respectively, to die.
Superintendent of Police Rahul Kumar, Burhanpur, said that Pramila Bhilala had apparently jumped into the well to commit suicide after an altercation with her husband Ramesh.
The senior officer said that the bodies of the three children have been retrieved from the well, which is located close to the woman’s house, and sent for post-mortem, adding that Pramila and her eldest daughter, 7, who survived the suicide bid, were shifted to a hospital and are stable.
The officer further said that a case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway.
In a similar case, a family of four, including two minor children, allegedly died of suicide in their Hyderabad apartment on Friday night. Police said that the family was reportedly distraught over their kids’ ill-health and may have formed a suicide pact.
According to the police, 39-year-old Satish—a software engineer by profession—his wife Vedha and the couple’s two minor children, Nishiketh (9) and Nihal (5), were found dead in their apartment in the Kushaiguda area of Hyderabad city.
They said the incident is suspected to have taken place on Friday night but the police received information on Saturday afternoon and a team was rushed to the scene which took custody of the bodies.
Giving details, an official said the family of four committed suicide by ingesting an unknown poison and preliminary investigations have revealed that the both their children suffered from some sort of mental illness.

A man was arrested in Khanna city of Punjab’s Ludhiana district for allegedly sheltering fugitive pro-Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh’s notorious gunman Tejinder Singh Gill alias Gorkha Baba, the Punjab Police said on Sunday.

In an official statement, Khanna Police said that accused, Balwant Singh, was arrested for allegedly providing shelter to Tejinder Singh—a close confidante of Amritpal Singh, adding that Balwant is currently being questioned, however not connection between him and the dreaded Khalistani leader has been found yet.
Last week, Punjab Police nabbed Tejinder Singh aka Gorkha Baba, a notorious associate and former gunman of fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh.
A report quoted DSP Payal Harsimrat Singh of the Punjab Police as saying that Tejinder Singh, a resident of Punjab’s Mangewal village, was nabbed by the Khanna police.

DSP Harsimrat said Tejinder, who was a gunman for Amritpal Singh for a long period and often lived with the Waris Punjab De chief, is also involved in the Ajnala case. The officer said that Tejinder, also known as Gorkha Baba, was very active on social media and often posts pictures of himself brandishing different weapons due to which he’s wanted in a separate case registered against him at Malaud police station.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Punjab Police urged people believe fake news and rumors on the internet about the arrest of Amritpal Singh, who is still at large.
A top police official claimed that “people based in the US, UK and Canada” are to blamed for spreading lies and rumors on social media about Amritpal Singh being tortured in custody. He said the rumors are aimed at instigating violence and spreading social disorder.
Last month, Amritpal Singh and his supporters armed with swords and guns, stormed a police station in Ajnala on the outskirts of Amritsar city and clashed with police for the release of one of his aides Lovepreet Singh.
On March 18, nearly three weeks after the incident, the Punjab Police launched a massive manhunt to nab the radical Sikh preacher and his associates.

Bajrang Dal bars Muslims from offering prayer in Moradabad private warehouse, video goes viral | WATCH
The police who reached the spot advised the Muslim people who were present at the meeting to hold events at houses of worship or their personal houses. The Police also took a confirmation statement to not hold such practices at his personal warehouse.

A video has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad where the Bajrang Dal barred Muslims from offering prayer meeting during Ramzan inside a private warehouse. The video of the Bajrang Dal leader’s statement on the incident went viral.
In the video, Bajrang Dal leader Rohan Saxena can be seen speaking to the media and saying that a man identified as Zakir Hussain had held a prayer meeting inside his own house where they are offering prayers.
The Bajrang Dal leader claimed that the Muslim man started a new tradition of doing Namaz inside his house. He further said that the actions by the actions man were opposed by the locals, as well as the right-wing outfit. The Bajrang Dal leader also claimed that they will not allow such traditions.

The Bajrang Dal leader further urged the authorities to file cases against the people who are promoting disorder in the state. He further said that they have asked the police to write a complaint against such people.

After the video of the Bajrang Dal state chief went viral on social media, many users came forward to add their take on the incident. One user questioned the right-wing outfit and said who gave them permission to pry into someone’s private property at night and termed their act as illegal.
One user wrote and questioned the authorities as they wrote and highlighted that it is the responsibility of the police to give protection to Muslims who pray peacefully. The user further questioned the actions by the police in stopping the prayer altogether.
One user also questioned the grounds on which the Police authorities stopped the Namaz, implying that the police have no jurisdiction over such an incident.
