Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Monday at 09:59AM

ADANIGREEN(up 1.30%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.01%), Energy Development Company(up 0.93%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 0.62%), SJVN(up 0.49%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 0.40%) and NTPC(up 0.23%) were among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy(down 4.98%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.88%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 3.60%), GE Power India Limited(down 2.30%), Adani Power(down 2.21%), JSW Energy(down 2.01%), Inox Wind Energy(down 1.99%), Alstom T&D India(down 1.81%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.78%) and Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 1.50%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 80.95 points up at 17026.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 252.98 points at 57780.08 at around 09:59AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 1.85%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.64%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.33%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.07%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.01%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.0%), Reliance Industries(up 1.0%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.97%), JSW Steel(up 0.88%) and Divis Laboratories(up 0.79%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 1.05%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.71%), SBI Life(down 0.58%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.32%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.27%), Axis Bank(down 0.23%), Tata Motors(down 0.23%), ICICI Bank(down 0.08%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.06%) were trading in the red.
