MUMBAI: State legislative assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar on Saturday referred the case of breach of privilege motion moved against Rajya Sabha member and UBT Sena leader Sanjay Raut in the state assembly to the Rajya Sabha chairman and Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Narwekar said Raut's reply - over a notice by him to Raut for insulting the ministers and ultimately the legislature - was 'incorrect' and highly 'unsatisfactory'. "Raut has doubted the fairness of the esteemed House by uttering derogatory remarks against its members," he said, pointing out that since Raut was an MP he was referring the case to the Vice-President.
Early this month, Raut had labeled the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction as fake and a 'chor mandali' (gang of thieves). He iterated he had not said anything wrong about the legislature and his comments were for a faction.
