Naveen to visit home district today

Berhampur: BJD leaders on Saturday oversaw the arrangements made in Ganjam for party president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik who will be on a day-long visit to the district on Sunday.
The party leaders conducted a preparatory meeting here while Berhampur MP Chandra Sekhar Sahu, along with others, visited the venue at Chhatrapur, where Naveen will conduct a public rally, to review the arrangements. Two days ago, BJD’s organizing secretary Pranab Prakash Das had visited the district and held a discussion with the ruling party leaders for Naveen’s visit.
Apart from Chhatrapur, Naveen is expected to visit Kabisurya Nagar and his home turf Hinjili and address public gatherings there. Besides distributing interest-free loans to the self-help groups and the ‘gram-kantak housing pattas’ (record of rights) to those who have been living on government land for generations, he will inaugurate projects worth around Rs 953 crore. In Hinjili, he will inaugurate 209 projects worth Rs 109.25 crore for Dharakote, Digapahandi, Hinjilicut, Kukudakhandi, Sanakhemundi and Sheragada blocks.
A senior police officer said security has tightened for the CM’s visit with deployment of adequate forces in all the three places.
