A man was left with serious injuries following a shooting Saturday evening in Hampton.

Police responded to the 1st block of Sacramento Drive in the Hampton Roads Center neighborhood following a report of a shooting at 5:25 p.m. Officers found a man in a residence suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police said the man was outside near the residence when he was shot, and he doesn’t know who the shooters are or how many there were. He then ran into a nearby home for help, according to police.

“This appears to be an isolated incident and the motive and circumstances remain under investigation,” police said in a news release.

Police have not released any information about possible suspects.
