Primary schools to get textbooks by April 1 in Noida

NOIDA: New text books for the academic year 2023-24, are to be distributed to primary schools in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district by April 1, "Until now, students used to get books by June-July. For the first time, every school will get new books before the academic session begins," Aishwarya Lakshmi, Basic Siksha Adhikary, (BSA) told TOI.
Nearly 1.15 lakh students will be receiving new text books across public schools in GB Nagar.
Shalini Sharma, principal of Primary School Kasna, Pari Chowk said "As per BSA, the books will reach our school before March 28. Also, we don't need to go to BRC to collect the books this time."
However, Afzal, a local book distributor of GB Nagar said, "Once all the orders arrive, we will start to distribute them by next week. We will provide books to 139 schools."
According to Arvind Kumar, assistant teacher at Upper Primary School Tugalpur, schools in Dhanauri and Bhatta among others have already received the new set of books for the next academic year.
"A total of 7 lakh books ordered, out of which 3.5 lakh books have been already printed," Lakshmi told TOI.
