Amiya Rath to take charge of BPUT
Bhubaneswar: Odisha governor and chancellor of state public universities Ganeshi Lal has appointed Amiya Kumar Rath as vice-chancellor of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), the governor’s office said this in a statement on Friday.
Rath, who belongs to Bhubaneswar, will work for a period of five years with effect from the date he assumes office or until further orders. He is at present working as adviser (information and communications technology), National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore.
Rath has 33 years of teaching experience.
He has authored nine books and guided 12 PhD and 17 PG scholars. He has already worked as a professor of computer science at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) Burla before working for NAAC.
The professor said he will streamline the process of examination, academic and other things of the technical university.
“We will try to follow the academic calendar sincerely. We will hold examinations according to the schedule and publish the results on time keeping the calendar of the university in mind. It will solve many issues, he added.
