Berhampur: To improve maternal and infant healthcare, the state government on Friday launched a specialized training programme — Nurse Practitioner Midwifery at MKCG Medical College and Hospital’s college of nursing. Rajalaxmi Mishra, principal of the college, said 30 nursing officers have been chosen to undergo training in the first batch.
At least six educators will impart training. “We have provided a well furnished room to set up the midwife-led care unit in the obstetrics and gynaecology department for practical training and for normal deliveries,” said MKCG superintendent Santosh Mishra. TNN
