Stove goes up in flames in Thane, woman hurt

THANE: A 41-year-old woman suffered minor burn injuries after the stove in her home went up in flames, officials informed Thursday. The incident was reported around noon at the chawl tenement near Nagsen Nagar in Thane.
The woman was trying to light some incense sticks on the kerosene-operated stove before her daily prayer time when it went up in flames. Neighbours alerted the rescue staff who rushed to the spot but the blaze had been doused by then. The woman suffered minor burn injuries to her face and limbs and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, informed Avinash Sawant, chief at the regional disaster management cell, Thane.
