The 17-year-old girl survived the brutal attack and is currently under treatment at Rajkot civil hospital. The Rajkot police based on the girl's statement informed the Keshod police to register an offence.
According to the police, the accused Kishan Bavaji (23) is a cousin of the victim who came to Keshod from Sasan on Friday evening when she was alone at home. Her mother expired earlier and her younger sister went to buy something in a nearby shop.
He was in anger and asked her why she became incommunicado with him and again asked her to marry which she refused. Bavaji did not like it and before the victim could understand anything, he started stabbing her innumerable times in which the girl received 18 wounds on abdomen, chest, hands, back, legs etc.
He continued stabbing her till she fainted, and ran away after she went unconscious. When her sister returned she found her in the pool of blood and informed her father who called the ambulance service. She was first taken to Keshod hospital and from there she was taken to Junagdh civil hospital and brought to Rajkot civil hospital for further treatment.
P K Gadhvi, police sub inspector of Keshod police station said "Bavaji was forcing and harassing her to keep a relationship with him and marry him for the last two years. We believe that he came with the intention of attacking her and entered the house after confirming that she was alone. We have initiated the process to register an office and the accused has been detained."
