Covid cases reach double digits in city
Vadodara: The number of fresh positive Covid-19 cases reached double digits in the city on Friday even as the district collector of the neighbouring Panchmahal district tested positive for the disease.
Vadodara city reported 11 new cases from 478 samples tested during the 24 hours ending on Friday evening. With this, the number of active cases increased to 53. Of the 53 active cases, four were hospitalised and 49 were taking treatment at home.
Among the four hospitalised patients, two needed oxygen support while two others were on room air. As many as 44 close contacts of the positive patients had been quarantined.
Panchmahal district collector Sujal Mayatra tested positive for Covid-19. Sources said that he was unwell and was tested.
The test sample was found positive. Mayatra, sources said, had mild symptoms and was taking treatment at home.
