LUDHIANA: After receiving a written complaint from two employees of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) who alleged cheating, misappropriation of hospital funds by fabricating, forging invoices and other records, the Ludhiana commissioner of police on Thursday formed a three-member SIT to investigate the matter. The SIT, comprising joint commissioner of police (City) Saumya Mishra, DCP (investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal and ADCP (operations) Sameer Verma, will submit a report within seven days.
DMCH secretary Prem Gupta said, “I don’t understand how the police entertained this complaint and formed an SIT. If there is any kind of embezzlement here, the management has the right to lodge a complaint, not any other person. But, I can assure one thing that there is no embezzlement of even a single penny here.”
