Tollywood woke up to a sad and painful morning today as Pradeep Sarkar’s demise left everyone in shock. Several big names from the Tolly fraternity took to social media to offer condolences and pay tributes.
Rituparna Sengupta who worked with Pradeep Sarkar in two ad films tweeted, “RIP dada..Am one of the privileged ones who had an opportunity to work with you in two ad films...you have always made us proud ...you have left us too early.....My condolences to the entire family.."

Filmmaker Pratim Das Gupta tweeted: “Haven’t seen someone more passionate on a movie set than this man. No one understood the beauty inside a frame like this man. A Bengali more than any Bengali, Pradeep Sarkar had a heart of gold and that translated in his storytelling. One of the best.”
Swastika Mukherjee took to her Twitter handle to share the pain, “মন টা কি খারাপ হয়ে গেল। Loved the sensitive portrayals of women in his films, his way of story telling. These sudden demises are painful. Pradip Sarkar dada"

Pradeep Sarkar, who directed critically acclaimed films like ‘Parineeta’, ‘Mardaani’ and ‘Helicopter Eela’, passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Friday around 3:30 AM. The ace filmmaker was on dialysis and his potassium levels had dropped drastically in the last few days.
